With cars and dwellings absent to the eye
My mountaintop tears draw toward the sky
Giggles draw near on a path whence I came
Yet giggles turn heavy heart
Her eye a crystal ball to my pain
As pools of past and present collect
Reflecting the sky
Heavy heart giggles and skips to my side
Splashing in those pools with a twinkling eye
But one pool so deep, her hand must clasp mine
I cradle her in the nick of overdue time
We must not descend in separate timed rides,
This mountaintop peace only when we ride side by side.
