What a Wonderful WorldA Poem by Wild Willow BlueThere's a darker side to everything..Songs of Blue Birds, let me sing ‘em; happy in a way I’ve never known before. You never showed this to me! The letter of my father, long since gone and dead. Dusty with the wind. But as my iced tea grows warm I’ll sing to you a song of lullaby’s and smiles. Prepare my robe and table of knick-knacks; paddy-whack, give a dog my bones. Once upon a time in a land of paper napkins and blown-out tires, a sign of deaths to come lit up your eyes. Parents gracefully wept while dancing in cars made of silk. Seems like a life ago now, how small your hands were on my cheeks. The wind will softly blow outside this window, swaying the trees as I will fall on my old, tired knees. Get up no more, it’s time to lay down now; time to go to sleep. Time to sing songs of patience and feverish love; of Blue Birds... © 2012 Wild Willow BlueAuthor's Note
