A Poem by Wild Willow Blue
"

I'm so proud to know you..

"

I will close my eyes against the music

see you dance and intertwine with the stars

twirling and twisting as one shimmering creature

you steal the words from my mouth; my breath from the air

Hands reach up to caress my cheek; lips tantalize

a lonely smile graces your soft, beautiful face

breath sweet with passion; so close it’s thrilling

Sad eyes look up as my fingers bend through your hair

you turn away… only to dance again

Your body is striking

your skin like sugared velvet in the stars

sweat glistening on every inch of your brilliant form

happy eyes twinkle as you laugh yesterday’s skeletons away

swaying in the quiet night to music that is all your own

You move eagerly toward me and reach for my hand

pull me close… your lips warm and gentle touch mine

frozen in the hold of your arms… this is all I hunger for

this is all I need…

Long fingers weave through my hair; wet with rain

your strong arms hold me as if to never let me go… never let us go

I lay my head on your chiseled shoulder, feeling what I let die long ago

listening to your heart race is my lullaby

your breathing, fast, your slender body shivering slightly against mine

I drift off to the land of dreams, standing here, with you

When I awake it is no longer raining

and I am not standing against you anymore

no strong arms catch me as I collapse in a rush of heartache and shame

Heartache for the memory of you

shame because I believed a long ago truth

once you held me, once you kissed me, once…

you were beautifully mine…

I was thoroughly impressed with this one. You very accurately and most descriptively expressed a moment of true love. I really enjoy it be because you could almost feel the moment of happiness radiating off of the poem. It was quite long, which expressed a nice detail of expanded moment. He ending was also great as, even hough it was quite sad, you brought up a valid point when it comes to human life and relationships. Sometimes we just miss what we no longer have.

"happy eyes twinkle as you laugh yesterday’s skeletons away"
That line made me smile as people with the skill to laugh the worries and sorrows of yesterday away in a gesture if helplessness among changing it really are something to be accounted for.

Once again, great poem, really enjoyed it, keep it up
