Superman

Superman

A Poem by Wild Willow Blue
"

You were stronger than I thought ..

"
Isn't it amazing
     how the heart works
How it breaks
     and mends
over and over again
I'm not frightened
I could hold you again
     but I won't
You never were my friend
You never wanted me
But I'll get up
     I'll conquer again
for the night is my friend
and my heart will mend

I love the irony of man perceived to be physically weaker, more fragile than the camera superhero. He can lift weight of a ten-wheeler truck, a building, even drag the moon away from its place. But truth is, we are mightier, stronger than he is because our strength comes from within. My point: We are the real Supermen.

Thank you for your kind comment. I am so glad you enjoyed it.
Very touching, and endearing. A broken can and will mend no matter where the source of the pain comes from. Great work. :)
