Red Rose

A short poem

 Red Rose

That red rose you gave me

Meant everything to me

You said you love me and

I said it back

Everything went perfect

Everything was perfect for a while

But then it turned to crap

You went out and didn’t say anything

You would be hanging around the other girls

And you wouldn’t be anywhere near me

I walked up to you and through the rose on the floor

Near your feet and walked away

I really like the two parts here. Like many things in life this poem starts sweetly and seems to offer happiness from something that turns out empty. The snappy, sharp end really brought the sting of your hurt into focus. Nice work.

Whoever hurt you that way didn't deserve you anyway. :) Don't worry about them. The poem -minus grammar and misspelling lol you were probably highly upset- is well written and filled with raw emotion. I like it.
