Before I go to Sleep

Before I go to Sleep

A Poem by The Revisionist
"

overthoughts

"
I lay in bed...but
before I close my eyes,
before the night swallows me,
before the darkness takes me away
...I think of you
...I wonder if I have fallen
...I imagine that you're with me
The question begins,
Is this real?
Is it the truth?
Is this a dream?
It feels so easy to say,
and yet all the more difficult.
It makes me feel
...confused
..undone
.scared
I was staring
You noticed me
You returned my gaze
I panicked and looked away
back then
then now
I think I am in love with you

Or am I?

Ah the unsure feeling of falling in love and wondering what the feeling is - and then acknowledging it. It happens with each of us, and rightly put, before we drift to sleep, our thoughts take us on the path of introspection and what ifs...nice poem

Yes haha, I'm glad you liked it. Thanks for your review :)
This is a beautiful expression of what happens so often just before we fall off to sleep as we consider the event of each passing day. I enjoyed the way that you spaced your words throughout your poem. Our dreams mix with reality making it greater than life. I was inspire to write this tiny gift poem for you:

Before Sleep

Your brain ponders what it needs
just before you close your eyes,
all those moods on which it feeds,
all those bonds now forming ties.
