"How very considerate of you Kevin. I am just about to play the piano. Would you care to sing a duet with me." Karissa asks. "What will we be singing>" Kevin asks. "The Girl In Valley" Karissa replies, "It is duet sung in The Broadway Musical "The Secret Garden." "Yes I would love to sing a duet with you." Kevin answers. "Wonderful." Karissa replies. Karissa and Kevin start to sing the Duet together. Karissa sings with her heart and soul as she plays the piano. A man who came to my valley A man I hardly knew A man who came to my garden Grew to love me A girl I saw in a valley A girl I hardly knew A girl at work in her garden Grew to love me From the gate He called out so kindly "Lass, wouldst thou 'low me Rest here, I've ridden quite far" "Share my tea" She bade me so gently Oatcakes and cream Sweet plums in a jar And every day to my garden This man, who might he be? Came bearing baskets of roses For he loved me All I own I'd give Just a garden All I would ask is never to Never to leave Say you'll have me Safe you will keep me Where you would lead me There I would, there I would There I would, there I would go A man who came to my valley A girl I saw in a valley A man I hardly knew A girl I hardly knew A man who gave me a garden A girl who gave me a garden Grew to love me SONGWRITERS MARSHA NORMAN;LUCY SIMON Kevin asks Karissa. "Do you know the Broadway Musical Camelot." "Yes of course I love Camelot, The King and I, The Secret Garden and Little Women." "Please play me Song from Camelot and I will sing it." Kevin replies. "Which one "If I Ever Would I Leave You." Kevin asks Karissa Kevin starts to sing as Karissa plays the piano. If ever I would leave you It wouldn't be in summer. Seeing you in summer I never would go. Your hair streaked with sun-light, Your lips red as flame, Your face witha lustre that puts gold to shame! But if I'd ever leave you, It couldn't be in autumn. How I'd leave in autumn I never will know. I've seen how you sparkle When fall nips the air. I know you in autumn And I must be there. And could I leave you running merrily through the snow? Or on a wintry evening when you catch the fire's glow? If ever I would leave you, How could it be in spring-time? Knowing how in spring I'm bewitched by you so? Oh, no! not in spring-time! Summer, winter or fall! No, never could I leave you at all! Karissa listens as Kevin sings the song to her. Karissa is amazed that Kevin can sing so well, but she finds it funny that he can't dance. "Bravo! Bravo! Kevin. You sing well but now let's see if you can dance just as well. You may escort me to the Star Fleet Dinner and Dance." Karissa replies. "Wonderful I can hardly wait to show the most beautiful cadet off that Star Fleet Academy ever had since I have been there." Kevin replies. © 2017 Lady_WiccaAuthor's Note
