Regret

A silhouette crept silently upon my unperturbed bed,
A cruel bloodthirsty demon that must be incessantly fed,
He planned to take me away,
And commanded me not to be afraid.

Trust him I did,
When I should have scurried away and forever hid.
I smiled at his menacing charm,
And ignored the caution inside my chest that alarmed.

I regret it to this day…
