Your Scent

Your Scent

A Poem by *~Kristy~*

I go about my day,

In a blur,

And whenever I roam the hallways so full of life,

I feel so desolate and alone,

Then I get to my destination,

Room 139,

I search everywhere with sight, sound, and touch,

But then I catch a scent,

It's sweet,

It's intoxicating,

It reminds me of running through the snow,

Though it is warm outside,

It is your scent.

And I stare around,

As the sweetness envelops me,

And I beg,

For your reapearance.

I go home,

And I am so disapointed,

All the time that I spend with you is never enough,

I always want more.

Then I get to my destination,

The room at the back of the house,

I close off my senses - sight, sound, and touch,

Then I catch a scent.

It's sweet,

It's intoxicating,

It reminds me of running through the snow,

Though it is warm outside,

It's your scent.

And I stare around,

As the sweetness envelops me,

And then I realize,

Your scent lingers with me.

It lingers on my clothes,

On my skin,

On my tounge,

On my heart.

This was beautifully inspiring.. a tribute to the scent of a loved one.. this loved one a very special and close one romantically. The scent of pheromones of a lover.. is sometimes a big factor in attraction.. some say bigger than we realize. Here you portray that loved scent lingering.. whereever you go.. in so many ways. Embedded in memory and sometimes present on our daily lives.. this has high meaning as it means you either had a very loving night.. or a great hug/kiss in the morning to start your day.. playing out throughout all activities.

Beautifully penned... many keep old clothing of loved one's even past gone to cherish that scent.. I know someone who once kept a sweater from a mother that died.. to never wash it.. sealed in a closet in rememberance.. some still keep framed locks of hair.. today many have lost that tradition.. living for the highest moments.. which this writing captures with this lover. I adored it!

This is so sweet and I love that. Sometimes a simple smell can trigger a memory especially one that is so familiar to you. I love the way you describe that in your poem. Nicely done. Thanks for sharing.

So heart wrenching and soul touching! I know these feelings; missing that special smile, that so familiar touch, the scent of dear love. deeply penetrating words you've penned!

I love this. I know the feeling quite well, and you've put it into words beautifully. Great job!
