New moon

New moon

A Poem by Throwing Romeo
"

More neurons than stars in the sky.

"

humans are like fire
artificial intelligence
is like global warming
out of dust into dust
winds of change
over synaptic

new moon

So seems Cynicism an' Negativity have side-stepped the softness of language. Humour's drawer-bound, shut tight an' locked. Little or nothing is done with twelve lines of a godless prayer; rosary is spotless, rarely touched yet wrapped in silk, due for an auction on Friday. Little is nothing; medium pretends; the whole is neither yours nor mine until mortgage free in an unstamped envelope.

I like your note above the poem. That’s an evocative thought and speaks to the disconnect between the riches of the human mind alongside the disappointment of how the mind is used. Our power is housed in our minds but unfortunately so often that power is the author of harm and with AI we have taken to even outsourcing that power as well. We are a strange species working so hard for survival but being blind to all the things we are doing that are more likely to truncate than elongate our existence. We live in a strange time where you so much feels soulless and synthetic. I think as poets we yearn for the authentic, soul-building touch of human reality. It is painful to watch it slipping away or at least to feel it may. A thought-provoking poem.

a new moon is a dark night, which matches the anxiety and uncertainty we live in the face of rapidly changing technology. the road ahead is unlit and we are left in trepidation. this is a subtly haunting piece. but the first line in particular gives a moment's thought. humans are fire, we are dangerous. so maybe it is not just technology that is harming our race? a wicked verse, full of ideas and startling lines.

Thank you Ern,
Your thoughts are helping
me to better understand
my own.
I wish AI would turn to dust...
I like real dust better.
And I think I like the old moon better.
Great poem....so expressive in few lines.
