Velvet curtains and dust...

Velvet curtains and dust...

A Poem by Throwing Romeo

soliloquy
love or carnal lust...
a stage of forbidden drama
velvet curtains and dust
bitter smoked candle lenses
forsaken sheet music lay on the floor
empty gilded box seats above
glowing spectacle no more
awaiting the writer
lost to his quill and flame
scribbling with ink stained nails
soaking parchment insane
in love with his blessed muse
he so jaded free
with his passion infused
soliloquy...

i was a drama student and worked on many productions. there's a certain feeling about being in a theatre, and this piece captures that ambience. i loved walking around on stage in front of rows of empty chairs before opening night. there's no feeling like it. really good writing. this work is expressive and intelligent.

I like "soliloquy" as bookends to this.
the writer plays out the play in his mind then puts it to words...
at first sheets on the floor in frustration...then he starts writing from the heart instead of the head, and it all starts to flow.
writing is passion and that has to be infused.
