The words are strong and I like the meaning in them.
"Reaching upward
Against the pallid light
In hopes of becoming
Relevant."

You are welcome. I enjoy your poetry and thoughts.
I love the elegant simplicity of this one... the scene my mind sets for me is a moonlit night (much like tonight) with the pale mistress spotlighting our little sprout while Seussian elder trees look down expectantly as she strives to lift herself up to match their height. Anthropomorphic interpretations are probably more likely than a simple sapling in the woods, but the images are wonderful as you've put them in my head! A lovely bit of writing, Willow!

As you can see I like to keep things short and tight (with the occasional sonnet), to play with words. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't. I appreciate your time, and kind words.
the allegory is amazing here...could just be about a sapling, but most likely a human being growing up hoping he or she will prove relevant during his or her lifetime...
and winter's bareness is so relevant right now...it is just that here.

i am used to cold and don't mind it...although it has been so gloomy here for so long...and all our snow days at school are giving me cabin fever.
I'm just someone who enjoys writing. Its a great creative outlet, and I love challenging myself to write something better. Being among others who share in this joy is inspirational. more..
