Offering

Offering

A Poem by WhiteRabbit

To you deceased brothers an offering
I render to you my indifference
I have shed myself not even one tear
Nor dreamed of you or brought you to presence
I pray you shall sleep for ten thousand years
Your lives the epitome of waste and loss
Insurrections to heart, mind and spirit
When you have awoke I will be no more
But dissolved into everything that is
I reiterate to you good riddance

Somewhat bitter. Whether literal brothers or symbolic ones, the sense of repugnance here is thick. Hopefully, the speaker will some day learn to forgive.
