A Poem by Amortentia03

There’s a little flickering in the light
Of this quiet room, where the beams
Flash dark, then bright.
Here for a second, then you go.
Only buzzing in my ears, then
Back from the shadow, your face is aglow.
When light invades, your features are clear,
But a second later it flickers away,
Allowing doubt to re-appear.
The changes do nothing but confuse me.
On, off. On, off. It’s hard to think
That you don’t mind it being this hard to see.
So I look to you in this darkness,
As I look to you in the light,
But somewhere inside, the filament breaks.
I think I’ll flip that switch tonight.
