Loyalty

Everything is falling in

But I still feel so out of place.

Maybe it's loss of control.

Or maybe it's a fall from grace.

 

I'm not sure which piece

Of this puzzle I am.

But my naieveity

Deserves no reprimand.

 

I'm just in limbo,

I'm stuck in-between.

It's so hard to choose

When on both sides,

The grass is green

 

And the weather

Is always fine.

Right now, things could be perfect

if we were frozen in time.

 

No matter where I go,

In my heart you'll forever reside

But it's time to press play

And pick a side.

 

We can still be on

The same winning team.

But I must get out and find my way

From in-between

The now and then.

Separate the right path

From the norm and the trend.

 

Old habits are hard to break

And even harder to bend.

 

But, I love you

Because you're smart and strong.

That gives me hope that

It won't be long before

We settle into the speed

Of this new pace.

 

And, for you, 

I'll run forever.

Because this is the kind of love

That you can't ever replace.
