Green Eyes.

Green Eyes.

A Poem by Amortentia03

I can recite your stories.

I know when you tell lies.

My sarcastic words

Work as my disguise.

We can sit side to side

Looking eye to eye.

I see I'm just a girl

Still, you're my guy.

But you dance with her.

You walk palm to palm.

I'm falling apart inside

As I pretend I'm calm.

So don't tease me.

I'm tired of living pretend.

I can see that you want her.

I know I'm just your friend.

Don't let me look into

Your green eyes, so sad.

They might make me tell you

You're the best I ever had.

I don't want to hear you love me.

Don't put your hand near mine.

I know this is going nowhere,

Stay away and I'll be fine.

Then we're

Riding in the car

Look up

I wish upon a star.

That you would stay with me

Forever you and I.

Please don't tell me that it's true.

I know that would be a lie.

So I guess we can be just friends.

It's quite the compromise.

You get my love,

And I get to yearn for those sad green eyes.
