Soulfate

Soulfate

A Poem by Amortentia03

We don't agree on anything

Except how to make me smile

I can't believe I kept you away

Even for a little while.

There was just something

That I couldn't understand.

Nothing could prepare me

For the comfort of your hand.

It felt only natural

When you held me in your arms.

It was just too easy

To give in to your charms.

You felt like my soulmate

I loved everything about you

But my soulfate

Was to spend my life without you.

You always wandered to other girls

I wasn't enough to keep your eye.

But all the little jokes you made

Were enough to make me cry.

You'd seem like you might want me too

Until you turned and walked away

And I could only fall to my knees

Praying you loved me enough to stay.

You just kept on passing by

My green eyes teared, but yours were clear.

And then you brought her close to you

And confirmed my greatest fear.

Except that, I never really had you

It is a game our foul hearts play

To believe the vile, flirtatious words

Teenage boys just throw away.
