Master of the GameA Poem by Amortentia03This one is a little cheesy, but I feel like sometimes a teenage girl has to be.One of your smiles, Could melt my knees, Your eyes were my sun, Your voice the breeze. I was in the palm of your hand But you didn’t take care You dropped me to the ground Out of sight, out of your hair. But I still wanted to be Right next to you, in your arms Until the day, You made me see through your charms. You were so perfect You couldn’t even see All of the things You did wrong to me. You played my broken heart-strings You were the master of the game Made me think that I was special, Then taught me we’re all the same. Don’t try to tell me you’re sorry You’ve already told too many lies, But you might want to fix what’s broken Before you’re faced with more goodbyes. There may be more still waiting. A few of those who haven’t seen, That you went and broke my heart, But said your hands were clean. You did more than you set out to To crush me was never planned, But you still act as though your innocent, When you’re the leader of the damned. I feel like I’m the only one Who sees this isn’t new And I still can’t trust that you will change For your words were never true. You’re everything That’s bad for me Yet I still find things in you, That no one else can see. There’s a chance that you’re not good enough Still, no matter what you do All the great things you never say Make me fall in love with you. © 2008 Amortentia03 |
