Broken

A song I wrote about what the emotional pain we can feel would be like if it manifested as physical harm.

 Black windows
Don’t let in any light.
I don’t know what’s going on
But I know it’s not right.

Pulling hands
And slamming doors,
I haven’t felt the pain
I feel in here before

I don’t know what’s happening
Don’t know why it had to be me
I scream the truth right at you 
But you never see.

I’m breaking in front of you.
I’m falling apart,
You tore apart my body
And you shattered my heart.

You lost your soul somewhere
And so you made me lose mine
If you had any emotions,
You left them behind

You live next door,
You live down my street
I don’t think anything of it
When we happen to meet.

But under the cloak of night,
You became a different man,
The kind when you came at me,
I turned and ran.

I was just a little girl
But I knew what was in store.
You hunted me down,
I’m not so little anymore.
