Tides of Change

Tides of Change

A Poem by Amortentia03

 The news comes on,
One death, then several more.
One step closer to armageddon,
So unsure what is in store.

The hills are shaking,
Walls are tumbling
When voices should be shouting,
They are barely mumbling.

There are storms ripping past us
Waves are crashing down,
If we keep melting away the future
We can only hope to drown.

We had plenty of chances to turn back,
To stop and see the change we brought,
In our success came failure.
Domination all we sought.

We think that we are unaffected,
That we are safe here in our land,
But your logic yields to facts,
Your arguments as sturdy as the sand.

The blue of our skies is dulling,
Oceans spreading far and wide.
If you can't see the problem,
Look to The Reaper at your side.

The whole world is crashing down
And we're struggling for foundation
With the disasters all around us
Our only chance is re-creation

The flood waters keep rising,
As the death count shoots to the sky.
The tides of change are coming in
And no one will be left dry.
