Just Another Day

Just Another Day

A Poem by Peaches
"

As writers I'm sure we all have days like this. Just amusing and tacky for fun.

"

I woke up this morning

Promising to write,

But the kids were hungry

And I needed a bite.

So I put my pen away,

Until later in the day.

Then the cat got stuck

To my dismay,

The telephone rang,

The dog ran away,

And I chased him down

That big old clown.

Just when I thought

I'd have a some time

I distantly heard

The doorbell chime.

I asked myself when,

As I glanced at my pen.

Now it's time for bed,

I pick up my pen at last.

I can't think of anything good

So I scribble this dribble fast.

Perhaps a masterpiece I'll never write

But a poem you've got... goodnight!

This was indeed fun. And an author chasing her own tail.

Life is always calling. Interrupting our writing it seems. Many times, I am writing in my head as I work and do all the "must do" things of each day. Scribbling on any scrap of paper I can find throughout the day so the thoughts are not lost when I finally find that time to sit down and write. I think that perhaps this lack of time to write is one of the driving forces behind my insomnia. The night is when everyone else sleeps - leaving me alone with my thoughts and the time to get them down. Fun write out of your frustration!

About
I've been writing forever it seems. I don't remember exactly when I began but by the time I was eight I had started a collection. I have even got some of those poems and stories still tucked away, to .. more..
