Reality Bites

Reality Bites

A Poem by Peaches

I step up to the challenge to leave my world of dreams,
To live in reality in the stone cold solidity of the world,
Yet I find myself growing hard and cold,
My inner self languishing, longing to be unfurled.

I learn more of myself and the truth of reality,
Reality is a staircase leading nowhere,
It is in our dreams and our visions,
That we find the strength to reach for the dare.

So I pack up reality and stick it back in the closet,
I reach for my own little world with an ache of longing,
And I find in it my strenth, and my future waiting,
And find again my sense of belonging.

About
I've been writing forever it seems. I don't remember exactly when I began but by the time I was eight I had started a collection. I have even got some of those poems and stories still tucked away, to .. more..
