Clockwork

Clockwork

A Poem by Peaches
"

To my husband of 17 years

"

Even after long years and watching children grow

Seeing their first adult steps

You are my world, my partner, my soul…

My best friend

Long after others, have deserted each other

I still run to you

When my heart needs healing

I still reach for you

So different we are

Yet like a clock, parts of a whole

Each doing their work

But synchronized to each other

I cannot think without you in my thoughts

Cannot sleep without you in my dreams

We both can stand alone

Yet so intertwined

It is impossible to do so

You are etched indelibly in my soul

Forever

About
I've been writing forever it seems. I don't remember exactly when I began but by the time I was eight I had started a collection. I have even got some of those poems and stories still tucked away, to .. more..
