Bent

Bent

A Poem by N E. Chase
"

A moment of loss to self drawn anguish

"
Shaking the rattle of want
Temptation swaying
Desires paying
Heed me not
A smile
A breath
Of peace
From the chaos of minor thoughts
Bleed out onto sinless snow
Caressing the purity of sinners prayers
With hope
With yearning
For growth
For quiet slumber
For eternity
For end
Lay down with the light of the morning rays
Kiss the lips of the broken
Lost
Finding only souls who dance the twilights song
Of blindness
Of numbness
Of that abyss of broken words never spoken
Never heard
Fading
Sinking
Drowning
Breathless elation
Weightless
Leers alight with broken
Shattered
Mourning happiness
A fallen friend
A lover taken through filth and love
Torn through shards of need
Cutting
Piercing
Want and lust and pain and peace
Sweet
So sweet
The tears that fall free
The years that bend and slip like shadows through the key hole
Forgotten
Alone
Were you there?
Was I you?
I?
Who?

imperfections is what i got from this write, I think we all have those. Nicely written

there is definitely something pure about a sinner's prayers...when one is able to admit to being imperfect and prays to be better.
Many think they are already there...and we can just sadly shake our heads.
Who? I? Maybe I could have been the speaker in this poem. No, I am sure of it.

Thank you so much for your review. It's so true, and all we can do is keep trying.
