Hopeless Romantic

Hopeless Romantic

A Poem by Julius Whimbird
"

Don't let unrequited love derail you from life. That is the basic theme of this poem.

"

I do not love you
I can see you right through
Like a pond so clear
Where no fish be near
Push away others may you
But your fines will be due
Chase after me with all your might
You'll never see the light
Stuck in the dark be you
Never will you obey when I say, "Shoo."

I don't care for your pitiful antics

You're just one of those hopeless romantics

Believe it or not, what inspired this poem was the personality trait "Hopeless Romantic" from the Sims. The part where it says, "Like a pond so clear, where no fish be near," I got that inspiration from a manga known as Pandora Hearts. Oswald was describing another character, Jack, and said, "Like a stretch of water, so silent and still, even fish avoid it. ...When you look into it, the only thing you see is your own reflection. You can't see his true nature." On a forum discussion for the manga, someone had mentioned that it was an old saying and explained it, but I can't remember how they put it. So, anyway, enjoy the poem!
