My first love

My first love

A Poem by Wheresware

I'm down and out of the game
As I hide in my corner of shame
I can't look people in the eye
To my chances at love I say goodbye

I desire her touch more than ever
This has been my hardest endeavor
For she will never want a man
I feel I've done all I can

I would wait a lifetime to be with her
The wait I must endure
I hope she has a change of heart
I hope she realizes together we'd make art

She tells me she's ugly and scarred
But in reality her beauty has caught me off guard
I have grown to love her flaws
For her I'd break all the laws

There are reasons why we're not together
Not enough to write in this letter
Earlier I said she doesn't want a man
That's because she wants a woman
