The abyss

The abyss

A Poem by Wheresware

As spring fades to summer
I just march to the beat of the drummer
Nothing in the world can soothe the soul
The dark abyss I've fallen into has taken its toll

It's dark and a lit path alludes me
I feel as though I'll never be free
The road has been a long one
In the abyss my heart to never be shown

I feel as if my story will never be told
Especially since the abyss is so cold
It messes with your mind
To hide what you must find

Why don't we hear about the ones who never make it
Because they're never around for you to listen and sit
Also no one wants to hear the protagonist fail
Being here makes you feel like there's no prevail

If I'm not around to tell my tale
And you make it out without fail
Please tell people not everyone gets out of here
Let them know I have found no cure
