Who are You?A Poem by WhereItResidesA poem about how some put on a mask to fit in with how society says we should be.Who are You? Who are you? I am me. I am exactly what you see. There is no mask upon my face. Who are you? I see you silhouetted in the shadows. A smile illuminates your features, Yet your eyes cast unending darkness. Who are you? You haphazardly dance in the masquerade. Once again you refused to ask for any aid. I beg you, step from the shadows. Who are you? I am me. I am exactly what you see. There are no shadows to hide me. I live in the light, fully seen. I have no mask to eclipse my features; No shadows to engulf my frame. I am what you see. Like a Phoenix I ask you to burn. Burn away the mask, And illuminate the shade. Rise from the ashes of your former self And join me in the light, For all to see. © 2014 WhereItResidesReviews
