Love is ForeverA Story by WhereItResidesAnthony Wright holds his lover in his lap as he discusses the mistakes he has made and his well to finally change.Love Is Forever Sara Wright rested her head on her
lover’s lap. Her blonde hair draped over Anthony’s legs like the softest
blanket. Sara’s dull, crystalline blue eyes stared unending into his grassy
green eyes as if they had captured her spirit and refused to let it go. The two
lovers rested on the floor of their downtown apartment. They enjoyed the
circulation of warm summer air that leisurely passed through the open windows.
He had thought about moving to the couch, but Sara’s comfortable weight quickly
destroyed that notion. If she was comfortable then he was comfortable. Anthony caressed her hair with his
rough hands. He leaned over and gave her a chaste kiss peck on her blued lips.
They were cold to the touch and she hadn’t put any effort to return the
gesture, but he didn’t mind. After all, they did just have a heated argument.
She likely just hadn’t forgiven him completely yet, she just needed some time. Anthony’s drenched red shirt clung
stickily to his body as he lied down. The silence between the two had grown
uncomfortable, so he spoke. “I’m sorry, you know.” Anthony said,
his voice slightly strained from the hours of shouting from before. “I never
meant to hurt you. Then again, I never do.” Silence hung thick and heavy in the
air, as if it were ready to suffocate all those that dared to defy its reign,
yet he continued. “I never should have
let my anger get the best of me. Not again. I promised I would work on it and
this is what I have to show for it, another argument about nothing.” He slammed
his head against the red and blue carpeted floor. “I can’t believe I got pissed
because you wanted to go to the movies with your cousin. I’ve met Alex and I
know how close you two are and how good of a person he is and I still got
pissed. I can’t even remember what sparked the fire.” Silence still reigned
over the room with a crooked crown. “I understand if you don’t want to
talk to me. I wouldn’t if I were in your shoes. I really messed up today; worse
than I have ever messed up before and from all the times I messed up that sure
is saying something. I don’t know how I’m ever supposed to make this up to you.
I can apologize over and over again but I think I have proven how sincere my
apologies are by now. If I just changed, like I promised over and over that I,
would none of this would have happened. You really shouldn’t be giving me
another chance. I fucked up way more than any man should be able to with you. I
wish I could understand why you still stick with me. The fact that I screamed
at an angel like you alone is more than enough to send me to fires of Hell. And
I deserve it. I know I do.” Anthony’s fist was a blacksmith’s
hammer as he pounded on the carpet below. He attempted to form a blade of
passion to show how sorry he was and even now his rage fought against him as it
threatened to destroy his greatest work yet. He took a deep breath and tried to
quell the rage as his thunderous heart slowed to a much more neutral pace. If
he could not learn to control his temper it would soon be the death of him. “Despite all of my past outbursts, I
don’t think I was ever as angry as I was this time. I don’t even remember what
happened exactly, all I saw was red. I don’t know why you decided to give me
another chance, but I won’t blow this one. This day will always stick in my
mind and the next time I feel angry I will bring it up so I can remember the
consequences of my anger. With you by my side, I know I can change. If you
decided to leave, I would end up dead because I lost my temper at the wrong
time around the wrong people. Now though, now I have the strongest motive I
have ever had, I have to fix what is broken. I’ll be the man you deserve so I
can shed my demon skin and join you as an angel.” Anthony sat back up and lifted Sara
further into his grasp by her white and red sundress as she limply followed his
motions. He wrapped his arms around her waist so he could protect his angel
from the demons that seemed to haunt him. It mattered not that his arms were
soaked with her blood. It mattered not that his shirt and her dress had been
pure white earlier that day. It mattered not that the room was seasoned lightly
with the scent of death. It didn’t even matter that her breath was non-existent,
or that her heart lay silent in her chest. All that mattered is that they are
together. The demon protected the angel, because love is forever. © 2014 WhereItResidesReviews
