Twisted

a poem on duality of people.

Twisted

You see water,

I see blood.

You see life,

I see death.

You strive to help,

I strive to kill.

You wish to build,

I wish to destroy.

You talk with friends,

I listen to the voices.

You see people,

I see shells.

You believe in God,

I believe in nothing.

You want to live,

I want to die.

Yet you’re normal,

And I’m twisted.

You and I... Hmm... I see these two as part of one being. We all build until we're overcome by our destructive urges. Everyone normal has a twisted side, and everyone twisted has a normal side. Yin-yang. We are able to see the beauty of humanity as well as its wickedness. The duality is all around us, and there is no escape from it. I guess that's where the balance in the world is.
