Mail

I love getting mail

It excites me so

Receiving packages or letters

You never know

I do not get it often, but when I do

I can only hope it is something new

 

Maybe it is a story, full of wonder and thrill

Maybe it is an invitation to someone's party

Maybe it is a package filled with things from another

It is a surprise, even still

 

People use email and texting of course

They miss the whole pleasure of writing

How special it is to someone else

That they thought of you in return-- how caring

 

So when I get mail, I simply say

"I will write you in return, hope it makes your day!"
