Holding Back

Something I long to say

Something so true

Feeling something so right

Something I feel every night

Wanting to say something, but I feel you woul flee

Though you say you have feelings for me

 

I want to say those words that every couple is used to saying

Though I'm afriad you would think I'd be playing

I know you have been played before

As have I

 

If I ever say those words

I want you to know they are completely true

I want you to know they are truly and competely for you

 

God opens doors, one by one

I know there is a plan for everyone

Someone to find their significant other

God gives us a chance to care for each other

 

So  I want you to know, if I get the chance to say those words

It is because God told me you are to be my world

For you have taught me the significance of that word

I will no longer use it for petty things

I will use it when it is the time I see rings

 

Rings of hearts

Or rings of gold

The time when I know we are to grow old

 

I can't wait to spend that time with you

I am hoping that time comes soon

For now I will be patient-- as God had intended

I will not say that word, as recommended

 

But know that I would wait for you

Just as long as our feelings are true
