We were nothing in bloom
For half a decade Spent ripping flowers From their roots and tossing them Into stupid bouquets Empty gardens daily toils And in some silly joke Of a universe You called it being prolific And your leaves so Autumn So red and gone and dead How I pretended I didn't Need to tend them And now no amount of care Will ever water, feed or mend them © 2015 Wendy G.Author's Note
