Peter Pan SyndromeA Poem by Luna ZerimarI long for Never-land.
I'm afraid to grow up.
For years, I was unknowingly young. And with being young, Came a naive point of view. It came with an ungrateful attitude. Because when you're young, You have every single thing handed to you. Protection, food, water, clothes, a roof over your head, Love & peace surrounds you right now. When you're young, You can runaway. You can escape. Either it be by listening to music, Locking yourself up in your room, Or hanging out with some friends, You have an escape. You can escape. Every problem you have right now is only minor. But soon, you're gonna be on your own. The way your mind works is gonna change. Because it has to. You're gonna begin thanking the stars for every little thing. You're going to have to work for things now. Nothing will be handed to you ever again. You'll struggle to find peace, And love will be hard to find. You won't be able to hide anymore. When you're grown up, there is no escape. You can't escape. I'm afraid to grow up. And to think that growing up would make is all better, ...How naive.
