Sweet Boy

Sweet Boy

A Poem by Luna Zerimar
"

Written to my cousin, my sweet boy.

"
Little, sweet baby,
Come here. Let me wipe away your tears.
Smile, honey. For there will be better years.
Right now, I will help you conquer your worst fears.
Sit & talk. I will listen.
I'm gazing at you. You glisten.
And I sob at the thought of you in pain.
They asked if you were okay,
You lowered your head in pure anguish,
Staying so quiet as if you were in trouble.
So young, my dear,
And already you know the idea of unhappiness.
I'm shaking my head.
How could they do this?
Bruising your heart. Scaring you into depression.
Yet, here you are. Smiling.
Unsurrendered.
You're standing. Still giving me hope for a better tomorrow.
There's a war. You're in it, and you're winning.
You've got monsters. But you're gonna defeat every one of them.
And when your beloved, broken soul can't take anymore,
Just come. Come here.
I will wipe away your tears.
Reassure you that there will be better years.
Help you conquer your worst fears.
Baby,
I know this is a lot to take in.
Just stay strong. Stay fighting.
Stay you. Glisten.
My sweet boy, I love you.

Wonderful write. I like the way that you captured a mother's emotions.
