When I close my eyes,

I can still hear your soft, cushioned lips sing this lullaby.

I can still see your hazel eyes look into my brown, sad eyes.

I can still feel your arms around me,

Reassuringly.

"Everything's okay.

Everything's alright."

..At least that's what I felt when you were around.

I can still feel your gentle hands stroke my cheek, wiping the tears away.

You would never let me cry alone,

Sitting beside me,

Holding my hand.

And after I was done bawling,

You would just smile.

"Feel better now?"

And I would just smile back.

But now I'm feeling glum,

I'm missing your lips. Your hazel eyes.

I can no longer feel arms. Your hands.

Instead of them being stroked away,

My tears are burning. I'm trying to keep them from rolling down.

Where are you? Why did you have to go?

I'm breaking apart. You're not here to reassure me.

You're not here to tell me that everything is okay,

That everything is alright.

All I have left is the feelings. The feelings of you.

All I have left is the memory of you.

So with that,

When I'm feeling down,

I close my eyes,

And I sing this lullaby. 

I sing the memory, and the feelings of you.

I sing until I no longer feel blue.

I sing,

And I sing...

But in the end,

I have to accept you're gone. I have to move on.

But how can I when there's no one else like you?

No one else who loves me like you do? No one else who takes care of me like you do?

I'm right here singing. Feeling blue.

I can't move on. It's hard to accept you're gone.

I know. I know..

You've barely left.

But already.... I miss you.

I recently lost someone. This my reflection of that loss, & something I wrote to grieve.

At least a little bit.

I also tried something new. It isn't my usual format. Tell me what you think.

It's horrible to lose someone, because they take a piece of us too. You got this into the poem well, and i think you did a wonderful job. I'm sorry you lost that person, but good write. xo
