This Interlude

This Interlude

A Poem by Wharton

When the silence is broken
by whispers, I listen --
for the truth is never
in lightning or thunder
but in the patter
of soft falling rain.
And I know that the words
that are seldom spoken
are the hardest for one
to restrain.

I love the flow of this. The message is so true. It is what is left unsaid that is most important.

It reminds me of part of a limerick that I read once: I think I heard what you were not saying.

Kudos,

JC
