I Hold You Close

I Hold You Close

A Poem by Enigma

The cold words flowing your lips scare me,

The beat you heart makes make me cringe.

Your are eyes enough to lift my soul,

Grasping it tightly along your chest.

I wander silently keeping you in mind,

Your scent, taste and frame,

the structure of your soul, gleaming and burning,

I can’t get enough.

We meet soon enough, staring and staring.

You whisper those words, the words I thought.

Giving each other smooth smiles we embraced,

Pulling each other close in a massive hug

The words were warmer, seeming endless

As you spoke to me, me only this day

I took those words and held them closer than before

The words “I Love You”
