Convincement

Convincement

A Poem by Alex

Your secrets and lies...

-then I was telling them

for you, for me

for us?

I've tricked myself

taking pages from your book

and tangling in your poetic prose

My liar

who snuck home

caught with lingering perfume

and had me at hello

You had me

you had me

from hello, goodbye and everything in between

I will never utter goodbye

I will never taste its relief

Am I weak

or am I strong?

Or are we just masters

of the art of convincement

Thank you for your kind review!
from what i understand, she is not willing to let him go even though she knows he is cheating on her...either she loves him too much to let go...or she just keeps forgiving him because she doesn't want to be alone...

the second stanza really blew me away---love the wording there..."the lingering perfume" for her is the lingering argument to stay or go---forgive him or leave him...the scent of indecision.
