To Abort or not to Abort

A Poem by Alex

Abortion is just like pulling a plant out of the ground.

You shouldn't really do it, but people do.

If it was still there in the ground, it would have grown and so would it's significance in the world.

When it is fully grown, it is too significant to pull, the roots are too strong.

Technically me and you abort.

By you sitting at your computer, reading this instead of going to that work-do

or party or whatever you blew off,

you missed a chance.

You could of met Susan or David,

you could of planned a child

in a year or 5

or spontaneously tonight,

f*****g in the toilets,

But you didn't meet Susan or David

because you didn't go to that work-do or party

so you just aborted a child-

a child that could of existed if you hadn't of been sat here-

if you hadn't of just blown it off.

Abortion is a decision you make.

It's all about the decisions.

I think yes, abortion is a decision you make, and it's all about the decisions. This is also a fresh take by saying how you didn't meet so and so and therefore aborted a child, which I can see. I think though, that if you are going to not abort a child in the way you see it in this writing, there should be some precautions. There are tons of STD's out there, and you should make sure you want to have a kid. I also think that you should get to know Susan or David and have a relationship with them, then have a kid. Believe me, from experience there is nothing worse in a family than your parents fighting and breaking up. Otherwise, great story, and truly remarkable idea. It shows that as we go out each day, anything can happen. Oh, and I'm not a fan of abortion (the regular version) either so. :P Good job though.

I don't know.
"Abortion is a decision you make.
It's all about the decisions."
Some decisions made are permanent. I did many things I regret. Abortion is one. Being part of decisions become heavy with age. I believe kids need to be safe and be clean. More to fear than babies. Many diseases without cure. My opinion changed with old age. Every child had value to me. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry. Poetry for thoughts are the best kind.

Yes, totally agree. It's your mistake that u let the infant come illigally but now it's a bigger fault if u let it die without a sin .An Important thought for poem.Thanks for sharing it among people !
