Choked

Choked

A Poem by Alex

the words vanished from your mouth

and were forced into mine

I choked and I couldn't breathe

and you watched what you were doing to me

its in your blood

you're a bad guy

what doesn't kill you

feeds your hunger

you gave me a necklace

with your initials

and I loved

how it choked me

i find it hard to believe that there are no comments/reviews on this wonderful piece yet.

I love how you have juxtaposed the usually-panicked feeling associated with choking with the imagery of love and gifts.

The structure of this piece is quite clever. You use the second stanza as a turning point between the panic in the first stanza and the love in the third.

This is an interesting and evocative piece.

I quite agree, we all interpret differently- I like the variety in that!
