Garden

Garden

A Poem by YouoweYoupay
"

I only they could see what I have seen

"

Your hand
I can feel its touch
Certain as heartbeats
Warm like the summer rain

I’m not afraid but sometimes,
I hear them give a name
To the promised garden
Where we will meet
Death, they say

But the name sheds its meaning
When I hear from you
Every once in a while

They would not have invented
These morbid words
If they could see
What I have seen

Your face in the palm
Of a sunflower
Your smile
An emblem
Of tranquility
Dignity
Under His Protection

" till death do us part" ...this is such a lame word and it describes death as ultimate ending ...and to a more vague world! But if we try to love that place and paint it with more positivity then we can assume that we can connect with our loved one with more tranquility on that ultimate place as we know God is the protector of that beautiful place...

Spiritually moving. Whoever this person is, the overall effect is uplifting. One to be welcomed.

A spare, clear and moving comment here on the ongoing nature of life. We do not know to whom the speaker is talking, but it must have been someone close in some way. The contact with this other is not through audible words, but in being reminded of her or him in various ways. These reminders keep the lamp of faith burning brightly. A moving and uplifting offering, this one.

I really enjoyed reading this piece of poetry of yours. It resonated with me on both a spiritual and human level. I also liked this line in particular

"Your face in the palm
Of a sunflower"

That is such a beautiful image I felt. Thank you for sharing your poem with us.
