Remember, I solace myself, Once transformation catches fire And I become an eagle Slicing the mountain mist With my pride Language ceases Human forms rendered Laughable, really Ants scuttling in tiny streams Mazes that go nowhere But let them believe that they Comprehend their own wandering
So, tell me and be honest, Who must I fear?
Sooner than later With a heavy heart I descend Seated on a pink mat Lotus position, The pain in my side beckoning My bladder infection Seemed to be improving Or so I thought Thank god for delusional home remedies Of Lemon and herbal water Moreover, it's my turn today To hang the laundry And prepare supper
Embarrassing, isn't it? A majestic eagle no more Reduced to this Yes, I understand, that the clouds and wind Still bow at my command grudgingly parting away With mere thought To reveal a crown of golden light Honorable and beloved by all
But I confess to the sun That her brilliance stirs my jealousies Just a tiny bit. Not more. She begs to differ, nonetheless Swears to me that I am indeed A star as bright as she But I haven't asked for her opinion And despite my deep respect for her We often argue about this.
Such a majestic thing you are even if laundry awaits
Just bought Mike Yip's new bird book and he assigns you to top place in the bird world.
We have ravens dominate our specific area and I've seen them chasing you away (my condolences)
I love it! you probably are a very majestic launderess too:) clever clever clever!

Ah Yes the mundane life as the eagle soars within us with dreams of flight as we are chained to the ground of worries and woes of everyday life in mundaneness of laundry. ;-]. But dreams are where are our hearts take flight.

This is one of the best poems I've read at the cafe in 2020. This is mind-blowing THINKING, first off, becuz pretty words won't fancy up a dull mind (& there are a few of those here, but nobody has the heart to tell them . . . who knows? maybe I'm one!) Anyhoo . . . for the first 1/3 (before bladder issues) I was relating to this IN THE EXTREME. Ten years ago I moved out to the wilderness & I underwent a most unexpected transformation wherein I've become more & more of a loner, while the masses drone on about all their grievances. I'm done with living in this world. I've found the most amazing one here & I'm lucky becuz I'm old & people have forgotten about me & they leave me alone now. This entire poem is amazing, even tho the bladder issues jolted me out of my own personal reverie. I love a poem that has rude awakenings & sharp turns. This is top-notch storytelling, as well as being philosophical & poetic (((HUGS))) Fondly, Margie
Did you know that if a man gives you a uti, he's the one you'll marry?
That's just my personal experience, but I have fun typing that line to people in online games. The whole bladder infection experience feels like the body betraying the soul. I feel like this poem is about the body and soul at war.

A wonderful tale shared my friend.

I liked the above lines. The sun and the moon. Great mystery still to some. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

Light hearted look at one of life's great ironies. We are eagles in our minds, but in the end we have to do the laundry.
