Ears of the Mouse

Ears of the Mouse

A Poem by YouoweYoupay
"

I can't write.

"

Ears of the Mouse

When you retired from writing, I was still devouring your words.

Not only was it inappropriate, but it was also untimely.

I was not the one who had grown the purple and white flowers in our backyard garden.
Yet they were joyful in my presence and saddened when I said that I could no longer write.

So I promised the pretty little budding things that I would not forget their names in my coming poems.
I'd have to think of something lovable, not necessarily appealing...right after I feed the cat.
Its purr in my ears is blurring my divine focus.

this is wonderful..who could retire from this..
the words keeps flowing..even if its just untimely and inappropriate
they always come to shape, and add flavor to this nasty world
this black garden with no soul,i made it breathe still..i gave ir life and soul
as long as words keeps flowing..this flowing river no mater how muddy
it will clear one day..filtered with words so ethereal..so magical
just loved your write..

Ah, very nice. So reflective. So full of emotion. Nicely blended with the little things in life, beautiful flowers, the purring of a cat. This blurs my focus as well.

Greatly enjoyed.

Not bad. I feel the sadness coming from the structure of your poem. To be honest, it wasn't what I was expecting when I hit the last two lines. Good Job :D

saddened when I said that I could no longer write.

Writing is my breath, writing is in my nerve.
If I said I am not writing it means I am thinking.
But your write is also true.
Great read friend.
Thanks for sharing your pen with me.

Had me with some concern. I believe I will retire from writing when my mind is gone.
"So I promised the pretty little budding things that I would not forget their names in my coming poems."
I like the use of mouse and cat. Made the reader think and ponder your lively words. Thank you for sharing the excellent poetry.

"...saddened when I said that I could no longer write."
Hey, wait a sec. This isn't a retirement announcement is it? Are you giving up the pen? No! Don't leave us!
"...in my coming poems."
Oh. Nevermind. Thank goodness, I was worried for a moment that we'd lost a great poet. I eagerly await your coming works!
