Drowning in Tar

Drowning in Tar

A Poem by YouoweYoupay
"

Grow softer. Stay still.

"

Drowning in Tar
Grow softer. Be quieter.
Grow fonder. Still ponder.
Far from summer tunes. Not far from the days.
Wakeful wait. Sleeping Grace.

Grow softer. Never speak.
Of a mountain unloving. Immobile.
In its minds, running free.

Grow softer. Fall ill.
Health. No longer a crown.
Drown. Let a breath out.
Beneath waters saturated
With a spoon
In a string-scarred moon.

Grow softer. Draw near.
You've often walked in three shoes.
Grow weaker. Do not fear
The owner of small heads and big hearts.

Grow softer. Go forth and go back,
Bend soundless, but don't break or spill
Into what's quite alright to lack.

I agree with your wisdom and thoughts.
"Grow softer. Go forth and go back,
Bend soundless, but don't break or spill
Into what's quite alright to lack."
The above lines. Soft but powerful wisdom. Thank you for sharing the outstanding poetry.

what words to give,to shake..always solid
and always around here and there, now its time
to rest..to bend ..lay your head down to sleap
breathe easily for its time, one more down
more or less who counts..no more running
time to rest..lay your head to ground
and be grateful for what it did sound
sad i think ,sad and lovely..

beautiful, I love the repetition in this piece of grow softer, I feel myself loosening up just reading it, I very much enjoyed this.

How did this one slip past my radar? Another thought provoking piece about tar and drowning in said tar. I got the sense that this was the last moments of a person slipping beneath the slick surface. Unlike quicksand, tar is sticky and is a death which lingers many millions of years after the fact. It makes one wonder what thoughts run through the minds of those who must wait the long agonizing minutes while they sink into oblivion. Truly your talent is outpacing this little old website. When are you gonna go mainstream, Rain? When are you gonna sell your soul to the Man?
A+ for effort
A++ for content
A for grammar and spelling.

bend soundless but don't break or spill. There is a sadness - a giving up tone to this poem - well penned.

"You've often walked in three shoes." What a clever twist of the classic phrase regarding shoes as people's problems. Well done, really.
