Immortal Rain

Immortal Rain

A Poem by YouoweYoupay
"

Thank you for reminding me.

"

Winter comes every year..

And yet it seems as if

I've never had cold feet before.

I've also forgotten how one cries.

So, thank you for reminding me,

With such wistful eyes.

This poem I strum for you,

A little bit out of tune, yes.

But I let myself fall

Upon one and all,

Even those who

Dislike me, berate me,

For such a clumsy timing.

Braced in a silver glint

If you watch me in a window light

I give you a hint

Of why I've hidden in fright

'twas the will of God

That Noah's town should drown

Every soul that was living, disobeying

All but those who

Mounted his Arch

So I warily watch

For another will

Hoping my visit

wouldn't make you ill

Or descend with a shrill

Fatal Scream

Like what had ended

Lott's theme*

The sunlight cast still

Seems ever so young and unbent

And the sun dims the blush behind the sill

Of clouds upon hearing my compliment

She has made way

For a consoling dark

So that I meet promises

Filling all cups of hearts

And youth wanders

And wonders

If I ever grow tired or old

If I be bitter or cold

Of watching the foolish

And the selfish for so long..

But I drip from streams

of Sincerity, pools

Of white light

Divine, if you might.

So I be tired not.

And I embrace

The brittle humankind

Like my own lone child

So I be bitter not.

I bring forth a long sigh

Of calm and cleanliness

Lovers pray for me

To shield a secret or two

And warriors come to me

To ease their grudge and fatigue

After an impure shower

Of blood and mud

I bring forth a birth

Of green and laughter

and puddles for

young ones to play

Flowers the color of snow

are my old friends

And the sound of a

Broken violin is what

I best comprehend

Forgive me, love,

If I ever sound

Dreary or far above

For I've been gifted

A taste of blue yonder

By a man with a bad sight,

And one good arm,

But I have yet to find him

And quench those blood-stained moons

That rise with a stench,

Of sad afternoons

I have still many

Calls to heed

Many souls to feed

And tomorrows of

Patience to breed

For as long as you

See me beautiful with glore,

I can soothe the world

Once more..

To my Mother,
To whom I love and respect, 'Rain'
And to Kaori Ozaki, for her wonderful story that has kept a hope in my life and slowly made it grow and change.

To all those who love Romance, History, and Adventure, I highly recommend this manga (visual novel). You really must check it out sometime, since it's tragically underrated:

I really loved this down to the fifth stanza and then it seems to get a little long, though there are some really good descriptions throughout. I enjoyed reading it

Yes, reminds me of the beauty in your eyes. This is how I get inspiration for my poetry. : )
"This poem I strum for you,
A little bit out of tune, yes."

That was probably the coolest trick I think you have ever used. Comparing a poem to an instrument, like a guitar or a piano or something, is absolutely incredible! One of the best comparisons that I have ever seen. So simple, yet so powerfully infused with meaning and grace that it seems hard to accomplish. God, why didn't I think of that?? Its so awesome!!!

Beautiful Poem! I agree with the other reviewers. You write in such a melody. I do think that the poem is two stories instead of one. The beginning is melacholic and somber, and the end was very uplifting. Did you do this on purpose? I'm still not sure how they string together.
Other than, I really loved it. I can clearly picture a winter day with rain. You did a good job of transporting the reader into your world. Great Work!
