As I Look Inside

As I Look Inside

A Poem by The Don

As I look inside, I find the feelings that you hide.

You tried, to keep them locked away,

But with wise words I watched you sway

You want to tell me what you feel

but as I listen all I hear

are the tears that begin to appear.

I know there must be pain,

Beneath your smile locked away,

And though i love you for who you are

I feel your pain as I feel your scars.

ill pray with all my power

to bear the burden that you hold

but as I reach your treacherous past

all I feel is the whispering cold.

your more to me than here and now

your more to me than ever

you might not love yourself

but in my eyes you are my treasure.

let me love you like no other,

like a child and a mother,

when your days are dark ill be your covers

I love you now like ill never love another.

I like this entire piece, but those are some awesome lines in the last stanza! They don't sound trite, but very powerfully loving. I'm impressed!
