Before and after death

Before and after death

A Poem by Karabear

I sit here,
holding your delicate hand
Wishing,
Hoping there is something else,
that I can do to save you.

In pain,
You still manage to crack a smile.

Yet,
I see nothing but pure kindness.

You lay there,
No complaints and no anger.

Oh, how I envy you and your optimism.

You have done things in the world.

Made a difference.
 I have not.
Looking over you,
I have seen you alive
&
Dead.

At least I was there for you.
