Painted Canvas

Painted Canvas

A Poem by Carmel Kirk

We've painted this canvass,
now we wipe our brushes clean.
We've grown so much,
yet we still know nothing.
Am I the only one sees the beauty inside you?
Freeze frame this time we've shared.
A toast to your ghost.

Staring into your haunted eyes,
offers a reflection of myself.

Together we stood as one, together we fall. Time's has its way of pressing on. The present buries the past. The days drag, but oh how these years have passed us by. Locked in visions, based in fiction. Breathe me in, I'm with you always. Take my hand, I'll never leave your side. Before the night caves in, I will stay with you. Decay with you.
