Rise Up Against Us

Rise Up Against Us

A Poem by Abigail Lee

The sun smiles upon me
granting its warmth.

The moon protects me
guiding my path with light.

The breeze embraces me
as it whistles in my ears a mournful melody.

The flora bows to me
showing that even the tallest trees will submit to their keeper.

The fauna leads me
safely through their lands.

Mother Nature will raise once again.
in her time, we will all fall.

One thing I love about your writing is no matter how amazing it seems to be, you ALWAYS throw everything into the last line or stanza of your poetry. I love it! This whole poem has the sense of calmness and serenity, but when you get down to the very last line it isn't angry but it's forceful and matter-of-factual. Another great piece.
